Can anyone tell me how you can treat your old silver? My Tiffany & Co-bracelet and pendants have been mistreated the past year and appear black. What product can I use to make them look like new again, so that I'll have as much pleasure wearing them as I did the past year?
As you can tell from the picture, I've dropped my T&C-heart pretty hard twice in the last weeks and now has two bad dents (luckily on the backside!) aside from the many scratches. It now has more character alright but I wish I would have taken more care of my jewels the past year. How's that for a new year's resolution.
Anyhow, have a lovely new year's eve!

Estée Lauder Idealist
Every friday evening I leave my life in Brussels/Leuven behind me and I head back to my hometown to spend some quality time with my family. So it is only normal that I have many of my favorite beauty products twice -one for home and one for my home away from home- and loads of back-up products in case of emergency, right?
This tactic proved itself quite useful the past few days that I spent in my hometown for the holidays. I had ran out of Clinique Pore Minimizer Refining Lotion but luckily had a valuable alternative nearby. I gave Estée Lauder's Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher a go and was very much surprised. First of all by its lovely scent. Even though I'm no fan of perfumes in my beauty products, the lemon'y scent is subtle enough for me to love. And although the texture of the Idealist is thicker than Clinique's Pore Minimizer, which is more like a serum, it still feels incredibly light on my skin and has a silky finish to it. And it leaves my skin very smooth, which I love. So I'm thinking I'm going to get a new Pore Minimizer but I will keep using Idealist faithfully every weekend.
Next on my beauty wish list: Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex.

Shark Attack Twitter
Although I still have no idea how Twitter works -while I had and passed plenty of ICT-courses at university the last few years- I figured out how to add the microblogging site on Shark Attack 2.
You can follow SA2 simply by clicking the box on the right, just below the Facebook-link! Now the only thing left to do is find out what in the world to communicate through it without boring you to bits...

Fashion Apps
It took me the last two hours to figure out how to
1. install the new updated version for the 4G
2. get my contacts from my sim-card into the phone, without typing every single contact directly into Adress Book
3. call my boyfriend, since apparently I had to de-activate the simlock
I've got the phone connected to gmail and I've found and installed the facebook-app. But now I'm stuck, the only useful fashion app I can find is that by style.com. Can someone tell me which other fashion mobile-applications I definitely need to have on this new toy? And where to locate them?
And does blogger.com have an easy to use/blog app?

Wishlist - Bobbi Brown Book
I know there is no chance that I'll find this item under our Christmas tree tonight, since no-one in my family, nor my boyfriend for that matter, knows that this book exists. But I really would love to have a copy of Bobbi Brown's Beauty Rules-book. And the Makeup Manual-book too.
At work, I got a sneak peak of what the books are all about and they are perfect for everyone, not just for make-up fanatics. I'm a huge fan of Bobbi Brown's foundations and since she has the best make-up tips and tricks, I'm pretty sure that this book is a must!
Be sure to check out Bobbi Brown's Learn-page before doing your make-up for your Christmas party tonight!
I recently got the Moisture Rich Foundation SPF 15 in 0 Porcelain and this superrich foundation is perfect for harsh weather conditions. Some foundation make cause your skin to dry out, especially during the winter but the Moisture Rich Foundation is the absolute best! My skin feels hydrated and soft, and looks flawless the whole day through. Belgium really needs its own Bobbi Brown-store asap.

Winter Boots - pt2
Despite a severe headache and a cold, I forced myself outside today to clear the way. My cat won't go outside and is terrified of the snow you see. Only when I stepped outside in the snow, I realized how much it has snowed in my hometown the last few days. I'm so happy I bought some winter boots last weekend, 'cause neither my All Stars nor my Dior Sprint'ers, my only two pairs of flat shoes, would have survived the week.
Anyhow, may all of you be safely inside now, with a hot cup of cocoa. Happy holidays.

Dear Santa, I'm still in love with this lovely Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton-bag. I'm willing to pay for it myself, completly.. Could you just ask LVMH to lower the price just a tad?

Winter Boots
I just broke rule number one when it comes to wearing my cape. These harsh winter times made my buy some snow boots yesterday at some messy little fake everything-store yesterday. My boyfriend keeps laughing at me, since he says it really is not my style when it comes to shoes, and he's right but hey at least my 50$ fake fur-boots survived our walk in the snow a million times longer than his silver Yves Saint Laurent sneakers.
By the way, I'm still looking for the perfect kind of flat black leather riding boots and the ones by Hermès are definitely out of my league. Does anyone know a nice alternative?

faux fur/black suede boots worn with a Zara-cape, black Burberry trench, LV-scarf, an H&M Legging, Flippa K-dress and my old, grey Balenciaga-bag.

Fashion Film - Black Swan
3 reasons why I want to see this movie:
- I love Natalie Portman. Closer was just amazing.
- What girl doens't like looking for houres at lovely pink tutu's.
- Rodarte (<3) did all the outfits for the Swan Lake-piece in the movie ... which, once again, makes me wish I could update my beloved and dearly missed thesis
Oh and the make-up is by M*A*C!

Clinique - Quick Eyes
The holidays are just two weeks away and I'm going mad over what to buy for whom. One thing I luckily don't have to 'worry' about anymore is what make-up I'll wear to those many parties.
I think 'glamour make-up' is the hardest kind, since those popular big black smokey eyes risk making you look a panda. And eye shadow always is something you have to take your time for, you don't just smear it on. Well, for a few weeks now I've found the perfect eye shadow which allows you to do just that. I got my hands on Clinique's Quick Eyes Cream Shadow. I think this product is very underrated and is easily overlooked when you're at your local parfumerie. It is an amazing eye shadow though, since it takes less than a minute to apply and you quickly get a nice, glamourous and finished look. Perfect I think for anyone who doesn't have the patience to apply eye shadow every morning before leaving for work at, let's say, 7 AM.
For a few weeks now, I've been faithfully applying this Sunlit Palm-olive-metallic green shade. I apply it very lightly on workdays and yesterday, for a birthday party I wore it more intensely, and a great plus, no touch-ups were needed during the whole evening! And since it has a creamy texture, it's perfect for contact lens wearers. As I said, perfect for a long NYE-party...

I wish I spent more time in the Repetto-store when we were in Paris. But shopping for the perfect ballerina flats is not that simple when two bored boys are waiting for you outside the store, ticking their watch every 2.5 minutes. Wishlist: demi-pointes and custom-made flats from Repetto's atelier.

Zara - Cape
Okay, so I didn't freeze to death the past few days. I just lack patience in general to be ordering online and waiting around for my package to arrive. (The box came all the way from Madrid, btw.)
So given that impatience, I just had to wear my brand new cape already the next day. And I must admit, I'm already addicted to this warm and comfy woolen piece, 'cause I barely took it off yesterday. But, to avoid looking like some huge batman-fan, I decided for myself that a few rules apply when wearing the cape -probably for me to break in a few weeks time:
- Under no circumstances should this cape be worn without heels.
- Preferably, wear with tights or a legging in stead of a pair of jeans.
- Find yourself a nice black woolen sweater to wear underneath 'cause putting on two jackets in mid-fall is a little too much...
By the way, did I mention I'm crazy for anything with a cape?

Worn with my black short Burberry-trench, my Louis Vuitton-scarf, a Zara-legging, Ash-booties and my caviar 2.55-purse.
NB: Seeing these pictures taken at an apple plantation, for some reason the Givenchy-ad pops to mind.

City Trip - Paris
I need your advice. I've only been to Paris once: it was for school, the Tour Eiffel Concours de Francais. We slept in a Formula 1-hotel and it stormed for two whole days... No need to explain that I don't have the best idea of the city.
So please, can anyone give me some tips on where to shop, where to eat and what to do (on bank holidays)?

Jewelry Box
In a few days it will be my sister's 21st birthday! As she is a fan of Cointreaupolitans, I'm thinking this jewelry box designed by Dita Von Teese for the French liquor brand would make a great gift. And Dita looks amazing in these campaign images.
PS.: Don't forget to enter the Shark Attack-give away. My sister is giving away a Roberto Cavalli-ring and the contest will end on her birthday this friday. Good luck!

Shirts vs. Dresses
All my warm, fall long-sleeved dresses were in the laundry, so I decided to make a comfy dress out of my dad's old Armani-shirt. Because the shirt would drown me if I paired it up with just a belt, I had to take in the shoulders and the back. But since I didn't cut into the fabric, I can easily restore it back into a shirt, before my father even knows it's missing...
Paired up with Ash-booties, H&M-legging, old brand-less belt and a Chanel-necklace

Fashion for Film
This is taking it to the next level, and I wish I could add some extra pages to my thesis!
Gucci, the Italian fashion house with a thing for film (see here, here and here), has designed 3D-glasses! And I know it's not hard to top the traditional ones, but these aviator glasses look supercool. I remember that during Avatar we discussed the fact that in the future everyone would own their own pair of 3D glasses, and I would eagerly join since the ones you get in the cinema often are broken or too damn greasy, which ruines the experience. The Gucci glasses apparently are $225 and the idea of going green and recycling just might win me over...
Update: Armani apparently came up with the same idea...

Fashion Influences Film
source - Photo: Warner Bros. Pictures, Imaxtree
Who knows, maybe the sight of this would make Alexander McQueen smile. His Harry Potter-inspired fashion spectacle was textbook material and it surely is interesting that one of his Fall/Winter 08-creations now seems to copied for the latest Harry Potter film.

LOVE
I am most definitely aware of the fact that I'm not a bracelet-kind of person, although I've been wearing my Return to Tiffany's-one on a daily basis, but I fell in love with this jewel years ago and lately, the LOVE-ad campaign seems to be featured in every magazine that I come across, which makes me want the bracelet even more.
I'm crazy for the fact that the LOVE-bracelet needs to be un-cuffed using a tiny screwdriver and that it's so plain and minimalistic, yet timeless. But maybe it's too simple for Cartier'ish-amounts of money? Anyone any idea how much the white gold ones are? By the way, those bulky rings in the Panthère by Cartier-collection are pretty amazing as well. How I wish I wore rings...
PS: Still on my wish list ... totally different style, both in the same price range though ...

I just had to buy the Gel de la Mer-moisturizing cream for my sister. Now, let's just hope she'll now stop using her The Body Shop-treatments and will become an Estée Lauder Companies-addict just like me... ;)
I've tried the gel myself this weekend, and I must admit, it feels incredibly soft and light on your skin...

Paris Wishlist
Since our city trip is only a few weeks away, my sister and I are already preparing our itinerary along Paris' must see-shops.
As mentioned before, I'm crazy for French rock 'n roll boy meets girl-brand The Kooples, and so off course my wish list consists of some cool items of the label. The pants are definitely work wear material while the grey sweater is just an easy going piece for cold fall days -love those sheer details btw.

Dear Mister Bailey,
First of all, congratulations on the wonderful show and amazing spring/summer-line.
For a few years straight now, every season of BP has made it to my wish list and so,
I was wondering if I could exchange my two Burberry-trenches and my sister's, for one of these looks?
Kind regards.

BCBG Max Azria
I really need to head over to Maasmechelen Village, since these Max Azria-pony wedges, which we all spotted earlier here, are for sale at the outlet store.
Both my dad and my boyfriend think they're horrible. But I think they would look great match with a winter rock and roll-look. Last winter I found one pair at the BCBG-store at the Louizalaan in Brussels but it wasn't my size, so I'm hoping I'll have better luck this time...
PS: Still jealous of my sister's new wedges.

Lily and the Lady.com - pt. 2
Remember the cool jersey legging I ordered on Lily and the Lady last Sunday? Just one day and a half later, the little box containing my order arrived at my parents' house! Fast as lightning! I was excited to touch, feel and wear my first online fashion order ever, yet since I moved to Leuven a few months back, I had to wait until yesterday to open the package.
But it was worth the wait! I arrived home, already wearing an oversized shirt and a legging -ready to go for a hardcore show-, but as soon as I got my hands on my brand new pair, I kicked off my old ones and showed off my new favorite. The details just below the knee are subtle yet different enough to spice up your usual boring, plain jane black leggings...
And I must admit that the ladies over at the Lily and the Lady-webshop have a good eye for details. Lily and the Lady-tape, -ribbons and -paper, just like a pro would! But the kind note included in the box made it feel as a gift from a friend...
